Welcome to Auckland's new waterfront
By mid-2011 entire new areas of Auckland’s waterfront will be revitalised and ready for everyone to enjoy. Between Harbour Park in the west to Teal Park some 8 kilometres east, a range of waterfront projects are underway in time for Auckland, New Zealand and the world to celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2011.

Westhaven Marina & Harbour Park is just down the road.
- Wynyard Crossing – the opening bridge providing cycle and pedestrian access between the Viaduct and Wynyard Quarter
- Gateway Plaza – a 6,500 square metre public square featuring tidal steps and a new high-tech information kiosk made from shipping containers
- Viaduct Events Centre – the new public events facility on Halsey Street Wharf, which will provide the marine industry with an opportunity to showcase its manufacture components, products and boats
- Jellicoe Street – a paved and tree-lined 500m boulevard linked with rain gardens to catch and clean stormwater before it reaches the sea
- North Wharf – the Old Red Shed has been revitalised and is now flanked by two new buildings, together housing ten new food and beverage offerings facing north to the Waitemata Harbour
- Silo Park – a new public space at the western end of Jellicoe Street featuring a 110m metre long gantry with viewing platforms providing extensive vistas over the Quarter, and a grassed area suitable for outdoor cinema and events
- Western edge marine berths – where you can see first hand magnificent new vessels commissioned or others being worked on
- Historic Tramline – a 1.5km tramline around Jellicoe, Halsey, Gaunt and Daldy Streets supporting two historic trams painted in the old Auckland colours
- Enjoy a swim and picnic at the Point Erin Swimming Pool set in park-like surroundings with a panoramic view of the harbour.
- Walk to the shopping and business district of Ponsonby featuring boutiques, restaurants, bars, library and outdoor cafes.
- Close proximity to Auckland Zoo, MOTAT, golf courses, Snow Planet (20min) and favourite tourist attractions.
- Work out at Les Mills Fitness Centre. Acapulco Motel is handy to tennis, squash and bowling clubs.
- Jump on the Link bus service which does a loop ride from Acapulco Motel to the central business district of Auckland's Queen Street, Britomat Transport Centre, Queens Wharf, Vector Arena, fashionable Parnell, Newmarket shops, the museum and fascinating Karangahape Rd. Departs every 10 minutes.
A short drive to the scenic area of the Waitakere ranges and many attractive popular swimming and surf beaches. Auckland airport is a 30-40-minute drive.
Ferry to our wonderful gulf islands - Waiheke, Rangitoto and Motuihe. Walk up the Auckland Harbour Bridge nearby.
